The Sawtooth Mountain range boasts over 700 miles of trails, 57 peaks over 10,000 feet and nearly 400 alpine lakes. There is a history of alpine glaciation, but while no surface glaciers exist today, perennial snow fields and rock glaciers remain, usually on north or east facing slopes. Creek crossings are probably the most dangerous thing about going Into the Sawtooths, not the bears or the lightning strikes.This cap warning is available now in our new “switchblade blue” ink color.
